24 years ago, when I was just a 6 year old girl, starting school, I was asked this question:
"Who do you want to be when you grow up?".
I remember this very well because it was videotaped. I watched it few years ago.
As my friends name all kinds of professions such as teachers, astronauts, bankers, presidents I, with the very assuring face and happy voice said:
"I want to be a mommy".
Fast forward 20 years and I'm a mommy. Who-hooo!
As I was starting my dream career (mothering) way before I got pregnant I realized that this will be the best job ever.
When we decided "to get pregnant" I totally calmed my life down. Not because I had to, but because it was natural wish for me.
When I was pregnant with my 2nd child, I was evaluating my parenting skills and tried to understand why I did things the way I did.
Occasionally friends or family would comment on our parenting choices (co-sleeping, extended breastfeeding, positive discipline) and I didn't have much to say except "I believe it's the best for my child". So with the 2nd baby approaching I decided to find some real evidence to show to others.
That's when we learned about Attachment Parenting.
I believed in it instantly because I was doing it already without knowing it.
I became more confident knowing that more people are practicing Attachment Parenting and that there is plenty of scientific evidence to support co-sleeping, babywearing, extended breastfeeding, positive discipline.
I followed my instincts to be an attached parent.
www.AttachFromScratch.com came to my life naturally too.
As I write this....
... I nurse my 1.5 year old son.
My daughter has her daily story time with her "international gang".
My husband Nik is cooking dinner (sorry, couldn't get a picture).
Our goals for future...
Our number 1 goal is to raise our children happy and healthy.
We are planning on building our first home - cob home. Check out my Pinterest Board.
It will be far in the farm.... with some horses and lambs and all the fruits and vegetables we need...
And of course the internet - so we can keep working on attachformscratch.
I thank you all for visiting my site and reading this long "About me" page.
